The Chat feature has now been fixed after being broken for some time. Chat is
used to conduct conversations in real-time, and is available in discussion
groups (to members only).
Please try out Chat in one of your discussion groups or here in the
OnlineGroups.Net Administrators group, and let us know if you have any
comments.

Hi Alice,
I saw the structure for it in this admin group, but no one was there
of course.
In my other groups KTHT and NZAP the link is there but the chatroom is
not, is that because they pre-date some of this infrastructure?
I think we could make good use of it in some of our groups for NZAP.

Hi Walter,
New sites get Chat in discussion groups automatically. In the case of
NZAP and KTHT, I think we explicitly skipped the roll-out of chat to
your groups. Talk to me about Chat in Chat in OGN Admins and I will see
what I can do ☺
Unfortunately, Chat was broken for quite a period of time. I know that some
groups tried to use Chat during that period and experienced considerable
frustration. I apologise for that.
Chat is now working as it should.
The Chat feature is available in all discussion groups, and enables group
members to exchange messages in real time. It is useful for ad hoc
conversations.
