Do we have the ability to appoint more than one administrator? I've struck that need twice, and I can see it coming again. Voluntary groups are reluctant to have one person "in charge".

If you wish to make someone a Group Administrator, that is easily done with the Manage Members page within Group Administration. A Group Admin can invite and remove members. If you want to delegate the ability to create groups, and change group properties, you would need to assign the Site Admin role to someone else. Currently, there is no way to assign Site Administrator status to another site member, via the site admin interface. We do have a plan to add this. In the meantime, email us directly and we'll make those changes for you.

Hi, I want to amend the visibility of files on our group. Online help (pasted below) Edit Group Security Properties Click on Edit the security properties of the group to open the Edit Group Security Properties page. On this page, you can specify: the group Visibility (who can see this group) the group Joinability (who can join this group) who can View files who can View messages Visibility You can set the Visibility so that the existence of the group may be seen by: Everyone Only site and group members Only group members You can set View Files so that files uploaded to the group may be seen by: Everyone Only site and group members Only group members or Same as group settings to set the visibility of the files to be the same as the visibility settings of the group View Messages Suggests I can amend multiple properties in the admin section. However all I can see if this; Change Group Privacy There are three basic privacy settings for an online group: public, private, and secret. Changing the privacy setting will alter who can see the group and the posts. However, only group members can post messages to the group in all cases. Group Privacy Setting Public: Everyone can view the group, view the posts, and join the group. Private: Everyone can view the group, but only group members can view the posts. Anyone can request to become a member. Secret: Only group members can view the group and posts. People must be invited to join the group. Can you help me with this please? Hello Dan, Was the issue of assigning site administration roles to someone else added as a feature for the site? Kind regards, B. Bett
Hi Benjamin, No this is not yet possible via the site-site admin interface. An existing site administrator can appoint a second site admin by emailing details of the second site admin to our support email address <email obscured>> -- we will make the change promptly.
cheers, Dan
