From time to time, we are asked if there is a way to delete posts from
an online group.
Unfortunately, we do not yet have a feature that enables this.
The best way to handle the problem of unwanted posts is prevention, and
switching on moderation in your group is a good way to do that.
When we do have a feature to handle unwanted posts in the archive, it
will enable the author of a post, and a group administrator to hide a
post so that it does not appear in the web interface for a group. The
system will also create a clear record of what has been done, visible to
the author and administrator. It will also enable posts to be
"un-deleted", if they are deleted in error.
Unfortunately, this will not solve the problem that all posts are
emailed to group members, and there is no way to delete those emails.
Those who are interested can view and comment on the item relating to
this in the GroupServer development issue-tracking system.

Tony,
I'll respond to your request about removing a post¹ in this topic, as this
question comes up reasonably often.
Unfortunately, there is currently no way that a site member or admin can
remove a post. We do recognise that this is a common problem and we plan to add
a means to *hide* a post². Of course, this will not change the fact that the
post may have been delivered by email.
In the meantime, Tony, you could get those test posts out of the way by making
more posts.
>From time to time a group member makes a post and then wishes to prevent
people from reading that post.
When a group member makes a post, OnlineGroups.Net emails that post to all
group members who have their email delivery settings set to "one email per
post". There is no way to withdraw that email.
On the web interface, however, the user who sent the post or the group
administrator can *hide* the post.
To hide a post:
1 Log in to the site where the post was made.
2 Visit the post.
3 Click "Hide".
4 Enter the reason for hiding the post.
5 Click the Hide button.
When a post is hidden:
- the user who made the post and the group admin can
still see the post
- the user who made the post and the group admin can
see the reason that was entered when the post was
hidden
- everyone else can NOT see the post
- files attached to the post are hidden
- if the post is the only post to its topic, the topic
is hidden
