Hi Asheesh,
We did realise that a site administrator can add JavaScript to the front
page of their site. Our friends at the E-Democracy.org Forums use
JavaScript on the homepage of their site to provide Facebook and Twitter
widgets <http://forums.e-democracy.org/>. A site administrator can also
add JavaScript to the About tab of a group. In addition, anyone can add
JavaScript to the Biography section of his or her profile. So far the
ability to add JavaScript to some pages has been a good thing.
Using JavaScript for a nefarious purpose would breach the Acceptable Use
Policy <http://onlinegroups.net/policies/aup/>. The underlying system
does track who changes these pages, so we will know who to blame. In
addition, the damage you can do is mostly to *your* site, and to *your*
groups, which seems counter-productive.
Kind regards,
Michael
